One month after the PCLinuxOS beta was released, the PCLinuxOS developers have released version 2009.1. The final release includes the 2.6.26.8 kernel, KDE 3.5.10, Java JRE, Compiz-Fusion 3D, OpenOffice 3.0, Firefox 3.0.7 and Thunderbird 2.0.0.14. The developers decided to use KDE 3.5.10 as their default desktop because the latest version, 4.2, did not provide the functionality that they desired.
